Two dimensional (2D) materials are optimum electronic materials for flexible electronics due to their ultimate thin structures and enriched electrical properties. In this presentation, the potential of 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) as flexible sensing devices willbe discussed from several aspects including the materials and heterostructures synthesis, manufacturing technology, and applications. We will show large scale growth of TMDCs on different substrates, including polymer substrate. We will also demonstrate highly effectivewet-contact printing method to construct hierarchical structure of 2D materials on micro/nanopatterned polymer substrate for better photodetector. Finally, we will demonstrate better strain sensitivity using stacked heterogeneous system (MoSe2/WSe2).



Dr. Bo Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the principal investigator of Hybrid Nano-architecture and Advanced Manufacturing Lab (HNAM) at Villanova University. After earning his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, Dr. Bo Li joined Rice University as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Materials Science and Nanoengineering. Dr. Li holds two US Patents and has published one book chapter and 30+ journal articles to his name in publications including Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Photonics, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials, ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, Small and Chemical Communications.His research interests include: 1) Novel 0-D, 1-D to 2-D nanomaterials and their hybrid architectures, 2) Micro-to-nano-scale interface between nanomaterials and substrates, 3) Flexible and transparent electronics based on nanomaterials, and 4) Multifunctional nanomaterialpolymer hybrid systems.

李波博士现为维拉诺瓦澳门凯旋门网上赌场机械工程学院纳米杂化结构和先进制造实验室助理教授。2005-2008获得四川澳门凯旋门网上赌场工学学士和硕士学位; 2013年获得美国东北澳门凯旋门网上赌场博士学位;2013-2016于美国莱斯澳门凯旋门网上赌场Pulickel M. Ajayan课题组开展博后工作;2016年起就职于维拉诺瓦澳门凯旋门网上赌场。主要研究领域为: (1) 低维纳米材料合成与组装(碳纳米管,石墨烯,硒化钼等),(2) 低维纳米材料与高分子可控混合结构,(3) 纳米材料与高分子界面,以及(4)柔性电子器件。在Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Photonics, Nano Letters, Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, ACS Nano, Small等杂志上发表三十多篇论文,申请美国专利两项。
